Review: AGM and National Board Meetings July 2009
On Sunday 19 July, 2009, ABODA held both its regular National Board Meeting and Annual General Meeting as part of the Victorian Sounds Great Conference. The proceedings were well attended by both National Officers and State Members. Neil Coy (WA, WA President) could not appear at the conference in person, but made important contributions by teleconferencing on Skype.
The ABODA Constitution requires each AGM address ordinary business including:
- Review of Previous AGM Minutes
- State Reports
- National Reports
- Election of Officers
The 19 July AGM followed began with this ordinary business, and provided a signficant update on the runnings of each ABODA State and National organization. Notably, the following Officers were elected and appointed:
- Victoria State Life Member & National President Elect Roland Yeung was elected to continue in the role of National President Elect
- Victoria State Life Member Andrew Mathers was elected to the office of National President
- Victoria State Treasurer Darryn Wright was elected to the office of National Treasurer
- Victoria State Member Denton Thomas was appointed to the office of National Secretary
Special business of the AGM and National Board Meeting included discussions of ANBOC 2008, ANBOC 2010, the new National Web Site, National Logo Design efforts, and efforts to improve communication and efficiency in the operation of ABODA.
Secretary Denton Thomas recorded a transcript and minutes of the two meetings, and submitted those notes and proper minutes to the State Presidents and National Officers shortly thereafter.
Following the meetings, National Board has planned and constructed a document archive in the Resources section (click the tab at the top of the page). Meeting minutes and other documents are now stored there, but access is currently limited to National Officers. If you are interested to see the minutes immediately, contact the National Secretary or your State President.
